2019 started with a bang as House of Quinn was invited to take part in the Toast New Makers programme.

After submitting at application to Toast I soon found out that House of Quinn had been selected to working with the Toast team to showcase and retail our signature quilts within the Toast stores and online.

Coming together with four other makers, House of Quinn quilts sit amongst an offering of beautifully designed objects for the home. A selection of ceramics, wood work and textiles created by some of the newest design talent within contemporary craft community.

The collection will be launched in stores and featured on the Toast Website.

I was invited to London to meet the Toast team and CEO for lunch, while we spoke about craft and met with a journalist and photographic team to take shots of our work.

At the studio day in Claption, London the Toast creative and marketing team met us in Laboratory studio’s. Entering the space with a mixture of excitement and trepidation but as I was greeted by a very welcoming team and the other four amazing makers the nerves dissipated

The Toast team worked with myself and the other makers to shoot our products and headshots for the project. Which I was a little anxious about as I absolutely hate having my photo taken.

After the shoot, we were given a group talk with the wonderful CEO Suzie de Rohan Wilner, who was so supportive. She sat down with each of us individually and talked to us about our work one on one, and the opportunity to meet with her was really great.

We were then treated to had an incredible communal lunch. Seated around a long table a spread of amazing homemade food and the opportunity to ask questions and talk to the Toast team as we all enjoyed our food. They talked to us about everything from design to marketing to working with makers around the world. It was such an interesting day and the team looked after us and supported us in the next steps to getting our collections ready for the launch of Toast New Makers and ready to sell to the public.

The Collection of objects is availiable on the Toast website and select Toast stores.
