This page outlines the terms and conditions for purchasing from House of Quinn, alongside key information about our shipping services and policies for the UK, EU, and USA. By placing an order, you agree to the terms listed below.

Returns & Refunds

Returns & Refunds policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are not, you may return eligible items within 14 days of delivery for a refund.

If your parcel is returned to us due to non-collection, incorrect delivery information, or unpaid customs charges, we will refund the item minus the original shipping cost and an administrative fee to cover handling and processing. Original shipping charges will not be refunded.

To start a return, please contact us with your order number within 14 days of receiving your order. You then have another 14 days to send the item back.

  • Items must be returned unused, in their original condition and packaging

  • Custom-made, bespoke, or personalised items (including commissioned artworks) and sale items are not eligible for return unless they arrive faulty or damaged

  • The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty or incorrect

If returning original artwork or larger textile pieces, you must package the item securely and insure it for the full value during return shipping. We are not responsible for damage or loss in transit and cannot refund items that are not returned safely.

Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item. If the return is due to change of mind or buyer error, original delivery costs will not be refunded. We do not refund express shipping upgrades.

Please retain proof of postage for your return, as we are not responsible for items lost in transit.

9. Damaged or Lost Items

Please notify us within 3 days of delivery if your order arrives damaged or if tracking shows the item as delivered but it has not been received. We will work with you to resolve the issue where possible.

Shipping and handling

Shipping & Delivery

We currently ship globally, with regular services to the UK, EU, and USA. The EU and USA have specific import conditions, so please read the relevant sections below before ordering. All orders are packed with care using recycled or recyclable materials where possible.

We use trusted delivery services, including Royal Mail, UPS, and other trackable couriers, depending on your location and the item ordered. Once your parcel is dispatched, you will receive a tracking number via email.

Estimated Delivery Times:

  • UK: 2 to 5 working days

  • EU / USA: 5 to 10 working days

  • Rest of World: 7 to 14 working days

Delivery times are approximate and may vary depending on your location, customs processes, and courier delays. As a small, independent studio and artist-led business, I do my best to ship promptly and communicate clearly. Your patience and support means a great deal — thank you for bearing with me while I balance creativity, care, and the realities of international shipping.

What We Ship Internationally

We are happy to ship the following product categories globally, with some specific restrictions for the EU:

  • Original artworks (quilts, textile works, collages, paintings, mixed media)

  • Quilts and constructed textile works

  • Books, zines, and printed sewing patterns

  • Fine art prints

  • Quilt markers (hand-carved wooden sewing tools)

  • Vintage and second-hand interior objects (by bespoke shipping quote only)

EUROPE – Shipping to the EU (from the UK)

We now have an appointed EU representative, which allows us to ship selected products into the EU:

  • Artworks (quilts, textile works, collages, paintings)

  • Fine Art Prints

  • Books & Zines (including sewing patterns)

  • Quilt Markers

Orders currently ship DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) via Royal Mail. This means:

  • Artworks: No customs duty applies, but local VAT will usually be charged on delivery.

  • Other items (books, zines, prints, quilt markers): Local VAT and duties are charged by your customs office on delivery.

We’re working towards offering DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) in the future, so these costs can be settled upfront at checkout.

Please ensure your delivery details are accurate and that someone is available to receive the parcel. If a parcel is returned to us because it was not collected, or because customs charges were unpaid, we reserve the right to deduct any return shipping or handling fees from your refund. Original shipping costs will not be refunded.

USA – Shipping to the USA (from the UK)

I can ship all product categories to the USA, with the exception of second-hand/vintage objects (please contact me for a bespoke shipping quote if you’d like to order these).

  • All orders now ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). This means duties are covered before dispatch, so you won’t be asked for unexpected fees on delivery.

  • Shop & Gallery Orders: Books, zines, sewing tools, prints, and smaller artworks are shipped via Royal Mail, with duties included at checkout.

  • Large artworks and commissions: Shipped by courier. A separate shipping quote and invoice will be provided, reflecting current courier costs.

  • Artworks (quilts, collages, textile works, paintings): Classified as fine art under US tariff rules and are exempt from import duties.

  • EU: Duty-free, but local VAT applies (e.g. 20% France). Shipped DDU.

  • Notes: Classified as fine art under HS Chapter 97.

Fine Art Prints

  • USA: Printed and shipped in the USA → no duties or VAT.

  • EU: Subject to VAT + possible duties on delivery (DDU).

  • Notes: VAT rate depends on country (e.g. 19% Germany, 21% Spain).

Books & Zines (including sewing patterns)

  • USA: Shipped DDP → tariffs prepaid.

  • EU: VAT + duties charged locally on delivery (DDU).

  • Notes: Print tariffs are low, but VAT is usually full rate.

Quilt Markers (wooden sewing tools)

  • USA: Shipped DDP → tariffs prepaid.

  • EU: VAT + duties charged locally on delivery (DDU).

  • Notes: Classified as wooden hand tools under HS code 441700.

Second-Hand Objects

  • USA: Bespoke quote only (not available at checkout).

  • EU: Bespoke quote only (not available at checkout).

  • Notes: Complex country-of-origin rules apply.

Print Collections

Our art print collections are made to order. Please allow 10 to 15 days for production prior to shipping. Any delays will be communicated as soon as possible. Your right to return is not affected.
