The Caster Collection - Mange Tout - Brighton

Mange Tout, Brighton hosts a series of work from House of Quinn on the walls of the restaurant. Enjoy the work as well as one of Brightons most loveled brunch destinations.

The Caster, is an ongoing collection of textile studies and quilts inspired by ideas of ‘casting’.

Ink blocked, net-like structures are cast against organic forms, wandering across the surface of Irish linen and reclaimed cotton. Throwing outward and into the other, the caster uncertain of the catch to be drawn back in.

Each a shadow to the intended efforts of the casters actions. A spell, a fish, the light, an eye.

Quilting with House of Quinn Saturday 27th July 10:00-14:00 - Port Eliot Festival

Work directly with House of Quinn to create your own design, learning both traditional and contemporary techniques used for quilting…

Born and bred in Cornwall, but now based in Sussex, Julius Arthur launched the design studio House of Quinn in 2016 as a platform to produce unique handmade quilts and soft furnishings: simple luxuries for everyday life.

Having already exhibited for The New Craftsmen and London Design Fair, House of Quinn is currently included in TOAST’s ‘New Makers’ programme – a select small group of exciting talent at the beginning of their journey.

Working within a small group, the extended workshop will guide each attendee through the process of quilting, with everyone creating their own miniature version to take away and enjoy – as well as being armed with the knowledge to create your own bigger quilt in the future. The finished item can be turned into a placemat, wall hanging or pot holder.
