Mid-Century Double-Spouted, Hand Glazed Harvest Jug

£75.00

Origin: Likely Southern Europe, mid-20th century
Material: Glazed earthenware
Height: Approx. 20cm
Diameter: Approx. 13cm

A sculptural, double-spouted earthenware jug with a built-in handle and beautifully unusual glaze. Traditionally used as a communal drinking vessel during harvests or festivals, these vessels were passed hand-to-hand, one spout for pouring and one for sipping.

This example features a rich terracotta base layered with green, brown, and cream glazes, pooling and running in expressive drips. Its bold, utilitarian shape and richly textured surface give it the feel of both folk art pottery and contemporary sculpture.

Perfect as a shelf piece, flower vessel, or standalone sculpture.

Very good vintage condition with intentional rustic finish and no structural damage.
