Autumn textiles workshops

Autumn quilting and textiles workshops

House+of+Quinn+Autumn+Workshops

As the Autumn sets in the making season gets into full swing as we look to enter into a cosy period of season holidays, shorter days and colder nights. As we also face the flexing updates with the C-19 pandemic, it can be a difficult time of uncertainty and anxiety. Making, crafting and creating is a great way to find some calm and centre for the next six months and hopefully, a quilting workshop may be a welcome distraction at this time.

At the beginning of 2020, I collaborated with Ray Stitch, London and Selvedge Magazine to provide create textiles and quilting workshops. Unfortunately, we had to postpone these at the time due to the changing policy and escalation around the pandemic. I am pleased to say that workshops will be resuming in a mix of online and in-person workshop opportunities. But as we keep our eyes on the changing government updates, in-person workshop may move to online session.

The workshops we will be running will look at two different techniques:

Abstract applique - creating abstract applique compositions using inspirational images and photos to create a mini wall hanging.

Curved piecing - How to sew informal curved patchwork to use in your quilt work. In the workshop, we will be making a 1 x 1 meter quilt which you can finish or take home to complete.

For all the information, dates and how to join the workshops, please see our listings below.
