Fragments

Fragments is an ongoing study of shape, surface, and quiet abstraction—small-format quilted compositions created using layered fabrics, hand-painted remnants, and reclaimed materials. Rooted in my contemporary textile practice, this first batch brings together elements of collage, quilting, and intuitive arrangement, each piece holding the marks and stories of its making.

Created during a period of reflection, these works emerged from looking back—sorting through past pieces, experiments, and the remnants they left behind. I was drawn to the glimpses of hand-printed and painted marks that had taken on new meaning with time. Working intuitively, I began arranging them with cotton and linen—some naturally dyed, some untouched. I built collages led by material and instinct, letting the cloth suggest its own shapes and rhythm.

Each fragment is edged with vintage binding I discovered on one of my wanderings through second-hand markets. I love the thought that it waited—tucked away in someone’s sewing box—until it found its place here.

A fragment

A glimpse

A moment

It had a purpose

Once

Again now
