Kernow Collection

Kernow is a small collection of textile works and ritual-inspired objects rooted in Cornish landscape, folklore, and memory. Drawing from forms found in standing stones, coastlines, and monoliths, the pieces blend hand-painted textiles, symbolic bundles, and banner-like hangings to honour land, tradition, and personal inheritance.

Foraging for stones and sticks, the Kernow collection was inspired by standing stones, monoliths, the Cornish coast, and the folklore traditions of the South West.

With a pocket full of stones walking along rivers, beaches, and woodland paths, my childhood was set against a Cornish backdrop. Familiar shapes and forms play into the collection of objects created for this series—hand-painted fisherman’s neckerchiefs, banner-like wall hangings, and a curious straw bundle as a talisman of a good harvest.
