Batch Three - Pre-Order - June 2023

Each Hera Marker will be made to order, by hand.

• Each Hera Marker is made from hardwood off-cuts in a selection of Beech or Oak and your marker will be one of a kind. You will receive one of these woods in your order. Please note that I cannot guarantee which colour or wood you will receive, these tools are hand-made from reclaimed and recycled wood and I have no control over what resources are available, that is what makes these items unique and the process of circularity is important to us. I am sorry that I cannot provide colour options for you.

• Orders will open on Tuesday the 5th June of and will close on the 4th of July

• The orders will then be shipped out in the first week of August.

Please be aware that international shipments may be subject to shipping duties and tax, which will be payable by the recipient. Please check your local government guidelines.

About the Hera Marker

The Hera marker is used to gently crease fabric, leaving a temporary mark that can be used as a stitching or sewing guide when making quilts or other sewing projects.

Originating in Japan, the Hera marker was used in the making of kimonos to mark the fabric without using chalk or pigment. Today, many quilters use the tool to the same effect, creasing lines to mark the quilt top ready for stitching. The Hera marker can also be used to hand press seams, turn corners and crease fabric to mark seam allowances or fold hems.

This special Hera marker has been hand-carved by Takahashi McGil. Created from Oak or Beech offcuts, responsibly sourced by the husband and wife duo in Devon, UK. Each piece has its own unique characteristics and no two are the same.
